Couples...capturing the passion of their life together!

When I photograph couples, either for their engagement session, anniversary or just because they are in love, I strive to always produce images that are unique, creative and full of passion!  My concentration is always on the couple and never on  the "background" or "props".  The setting should only enhance the couples mood and not become the focus.  I know that all couples individual to themselves and I take this always into consideration, knowing what might be fine for one couple might not be for another.  Proudly, I know  when it comes to my couples that I can always ..capture the passion of their life together!

Here are some of my favorite images of couples.  Some were taken just two weeks ago and a few just a little longer than that!

Haley's Senior Images in Buchanan, VA!

To follow my previous post, I wanted to add these images of Haley's Senior Pictures!  We had a great time in downtown Buchanan, VA!  Haley was the center of attention of this small town as we wondered the streets taking her images!  She was awesome to work with and I love the results!

Senior Pictures?

Whether my younger customers are entering their senior year in high school or barely starting their first year of middle school, I love creating an experience they will always remember!   I strive to bring out the best in their personalities, creating a boost to their self-confidence and making each session as individual as they are!  Yes, I love capturing their passion for life!

Black and White thoughts..the Encore

So in a previous post, I had noted that even though it was once a passion of mine, that I rarely used black and white in my images.  Well, things have changed.I have done some of my recent work in black and white!

Now to me black and white should be used more to convey more of an emotion.  By removing the color, all that is left is the expressions, composition and tones of the image.  So, yes, it drives me nuts when I see images in black and white that should have been in color.

Here is my recent black and white images and more will follow this month.  Do  not forget to contact me for any of your photographic needs!

My Studio..Downtown Roanoke, VA

I have lived and photographed in various locations including Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale and in Southern California!  However, my favorite place to photograph is Downtown Roanoke!  It is very photogenic and I have rarely used the same exact location more than once.

As my images would indicate, I do not have a "studio" and so I create all my images on location.    It is my observation that in most cases when a photographer has a favorite location that he/she uses, the pictures  look the same session after session after session.

When someone hires me to create images for them, that is what they are expecting, a creation of their images!  I was told that as a photographer, you are only as good as your last image you created.  It is my goal to give my subjects images that are unique to them!  So when you book a session with me and I ask you to meet me downtown, you can rest assure I will still be creating something unique to you!

Ps..I want to utilize Fincastle, Buchanan, Vinton and Salem more...so give me a challenge!

Enjoying the Rain!

It was on a rare occasion that I would ever have weather difficulties on the West Coast in regards to photographing my clients outside/on location.  However, I have had to reschedule more than a few sessions here in SW Virginia because of rainy weather.

On this one particular Saturday in May, I woke up to find that we had incoming clouds with a high chance of showers.  I had three sessions scheduled for that day and instead of my usual phone calls to reschedule, I decided I would work with Mother Nature and photograph around the rain!  I did not get upset or disappointed by the rain, instead I would work around the occasional downpour.   I believe I was blessed for my faith and efforts!  Not only did I complete the sessions but I created some incredible images!  So now when the weather man predicts uncertainty in the weather, I will know with certainty that I will have the opportunity for some unique images!  And here are my sessions:
